Welcome to the Early Years Foundation Stage at Tarleton Community Primary School. Here you will find some general information The Early Years. Please visit our Tiny Treasures and Reception class pages for more information and for our gallery of photos.
Our Tiny Treasures Nursery Class and Reception class follows the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (Click picture below for more details). We pride ourselves on creating a totally immersive learning environment for our children, where the classroom reflects the learning that is happening.
Our aim is to provide the children with a play based curriculum that is tailored to meet individual needs. We offer a welcoming, safe and secure environment where children’s excitement and love of learning can be sparked and developed. We use Early Years Outcomes and Development Matters (click on the picture links below for more detail) to track children's progress and plan next steps.
Long Term Overviews
We aim to offer an immersive, exciting, stimulating and broad curriculum which builds upon previous learning to embed key knowledge.
We place great emphasis on communication and language skills as we believe that these skills underpin all learning. We do this through specifically planning for Communication and Language, the use of key questioning, highlighting key vocabulary to be taught as well as providing a rich variety of fiction and non fiction texts in each area of learning.
