Catering Manager

 

We are looking for a Catering Manager to run our new “Lancashire Kitchen at TCP,” and join our hard working catering team who are dedicated to ensuring our children receive a healthy and nutritious school lunch.

We are a friendly village school at the heart of our community. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and motivated to provide the best provision for our children. This is an exciting opportunity to work with us to launch this new initiative as we create our in house catering provision.

You will be responsible, under the direction of the Headteacher, for the school kitchen, the preparation and cooking of meals including ordering, menus, budget control, supervision of staff and serving of food at lunch time. We wish to appoint an individual who is passionate about cooking and presenting exciting modern menus with fresh food and ingredients. We are seeking a Catering Manager who is able to promote and market school catering with a focus on healthy, nutritious, high quality and value for money meals.

You will:

  • Have experience of working in a catering environment
  • Work collaboratively within our team
  • Be committed to providing a high quality service, promoting school meals and working to increase the uptake
  • Br organised, able to use initiative and be open to new and exciting ways to develop the kitchen
  • Be flexible to changing workload demands and challenges within the school
  • Be a team player who develops their team and approaches in a friendly, succinct manner
  • Go the extra mile in terms of time and effort to ensure every child enjoys their school meal

Essential Qualifications, experience and knowledge:

  • Recognised food hygiene qualification
  • Experience of working in the catering industry and managing large scale catering operation
  • Knowledge of food service and catering in general
  • Good communication, interpersonal skills and customer care
  • Experience of working with budgets, stock and cost control

 

 The post is from the 1st June 2024 and is a 35 hours per week permanent position, Monday – Friday. Hours are flexible and will be discussed at interview.

*There will be a 6 month probationary period

Salary:

Grade 6 Point 11  - 19 (£25,979 to £29,777)

£20,779  - £23,817 (pro rota)
